WhatsApp, one of the most popular messaging services on the planet and recent recipient of a veritable boatload of cash from Facebook, is back on the Windows Phone app store following an extended absence that was caused by the app causing errors following a Windows Phone 8 update.

The developers have brought WhatsApp back to Microsoft’s store bigger and better than ever, with new features being added to the revamped messaging app. Users will be able to alter chat backgrounds and notification tones while the privacy settings have been given a fresh coat of paint.

It would have been a terrible shame for Microsoft’s mobile app store to be excluded from the messaging fun, particularly now that Facebook holds the reigns, so it’s good to see that it’s returned.
