Microsoft’s Windows 10 Technical Preview is out and about and Microsoft has started releasing significant updates to the operating system. While there are a lot of exciting features coming, there’s at least one that has taken its inspiration from the Windows Phone operating system.

The newly-revealed Action Center, which has been borrowed from Microsoft’s mobile OS, will be bringing all of your PC notifications into a single location on Windows 10, located in the taskbar that lives on the right-hand side of the desktop screen.

According to Microsoft, “…[t]his build is focused ONLY on enabling basic notifications – quick actions and cleaner UI will come later.”

“You’ll see notifications from the system and apps – from new emails and invites to IMs, Facebook posts and more – all in one place, so you don’t miss a thing.”

There will likely be a few more interesting tweaks revealed as the test progresses so we’ll keep our eyes peeled from whatever other innovations Microsoft has incoming.
