Now there’s a turn-up for the books. Soon, owning a Samsung TV means that you might not have to get your hands on a PlayStation console. The company is the first outside party to have their hardware supported by the PlayStation Now streaming service, with unspecified 2014 and 2015 models of Samsung’s smart TV lineups getting access to the service.
This means that owners with a speedy enough internet connection will be able to use a controller from Sony and simply stream their games from Sony’s servers to their smart TV. Much neater, as far as the lounge arrangement goes.
Of course, PlayStation Now is technically still in a testing phase but it seems to be the coming thing. Odds are that Microsoft will follow suit some time soon. Could we be hearing something about their plans at this year’s E3 convention?
