Samsung attempted to launch a Tizen-powered smartphone some time back but various delays and hitches led to the launch being scrubbed. But the company is back and ready to take another crack at releasing a phone running their very own operating system and this time around the target market is in India.

India will soon be getting the Z1, a Tizen phone from Samsung that combines their own system with some low-end specs. The upshot is that it should be a winner in the country, though it’s aiming at a very saturated market on that side.

The Z1 will feature a 4-inch 800 x 480 display, 768MB of RAM, 4GB of storage and a 1.2GHz CPU. Like we said, low-end. There’s also a 3.1MP/VGA camera combination, as well as a 1800mAh battery coming to the India-specific handset.

Though it’s set for India, there’s always a chance that other locations will also see the Z1. We’ll have to see how well this Tizen device is received.
