Samsung has always been big on their advertising, in terms of budgets as well as the scale and scope of their campaigns but the latest effort from the South Korean company, in aid of their Galaxy S 5 smartphone, is large – even for them.
Samsung has plans afoot to take over Terminal 5 in London’s Heathrow Airport, completely, and rebranding it as Terminal Samsung Galaxy S 5. This is a relative first for any company that has partnered with Heathrow in the past, though several have taken up a lot of space inside the terminal, The Verge points out, nobody has yet overtaken the terminal to this extent.
Samsung explained their plans in a media statement, saying “The initiative includes all signage throughout the Terminal Samsung Galaxy S5 terminal – at the entrance and drop-off locations, in the lounges, at security and at the gates. In addition, all 172 digital panels in the main terminal, gate rooms and baggage reclaim areas will feature the rebrand ‘Terminal Samsung Galaxy S5’ and images of the Galaxy S5 smartphone.”
Samsung will also be adding their branding to Heathrow’s Terminal 5 website. That’s a whole love of advertising.
