We haven’t seen or heard much about Samsung’s Tizen operating system of late but that doesn’t mean that the company has abandoned it.

A new report, from Reuters, claims that Samsung is going to be releasing a new set of phones featuring Tizen some time this year. To date, they’ve only released one of these onto the market – the Samsung Z1. According to Samsung, the tester handset did rather well and shipped over a million units.

Just how many handset there are, how they will be specced and priced and where they will be released hasn’t been detailed, nor do we know where Samsung plans to release their Tizen phones. Odds are that India will be on the list, as that’s the only country that has seen a Tizen phone actually launch to date.
