When you think of a Samsung TV screen, what pops to mind is generally a larger screen and a premium design but not that many people realise that Samsung also makes TVs that fit into the smaller end of the scale, both in terms of budget and in physical size.

The 23-inch UA23H4003 is one of these screens, being small enough to install on a shelf, cheap enough that just about anyone can have one but still featuring that distinctive Samsung design flair that tells you that you’ve made the right choice when it comes to your entertainment screen.

This particular LED screen is a sub-HD outing for Samsung, as you would expect from a budget panel. But your cash will still net you a 1366 x 768 resolution, a little above 720p, a 100Mhz Clear Motion Rate and Samsung’s HyperReal picture engine.

There are two down-firing 3 Watt with Dolby sound tech to accompany your watching and enough connectors to make sure that you’ll be able to hook most of your peripheral devices up without any hassles.

There are two HDMI ports available, as well as a single USB. Component connections have not been neglected either, there’s an option for that here as well.

The UA23H4003 is not one of Samsung’s vaunted Smart TVs but it isn’t priced like one either. What you see is what you get: a great panel, no frills and compact enough to give you a clear image in the smallest amount of space possible. Or you could use it as a very versatile computer monitor.
