Have we mentioned just how impressed we are with Samsung’s Galaxy Tab S 10.5-inch tablet? No? Only 100 or so times? It’s still not enough, Samsung’s new flagship tablet range is some of the best tablet hardware we’ve ever seen and the 8.4-inch version you can see here, the Galaxy Tab S T700/T705, is no exception.

In fact, that 8.4-inch Super AMOLED display might be even better looking than its larger cousin thanks to the increased pixel density found in the 1,600 x 2,560 resolution screen. No, seriously, it looks amazing.

But looks are not everything and in this case the Tab S T700/T705 has the inner beauty to match its outward appearance. The smaller Tab S features the same Exynos 5 Octa processor as its close relative, which comprises a quad-core Cortex-A15 running at 1.9GHz and a Cortex-A7 quad running at 1.3GHz. That’s a whole lot of power for a fairly small device.

Available in SA are the 32GB versions of the T700/T705 tablets, all of which ship with 3GB of RAM as  standard and which support up to 128GB of extra storage via microSD.

The whole lot is powered by a 4900mAh lithium-ion battery, so you’re looking at all-day performance from that quarter as well.

By now you’re probably wondering what all the T700/T705 business is about. The T700 model is Samsung’s WiFi only version of their 8.4-inch supertablet while the T705 version sports LTE as well as WiFi access. It depends on you whether you’re going to be taking it out with you or using it at home.

What else do you need? There’s the usual run of tablet features, from Bluetooth 4.0 to cameras for voice chat and pictures, and Samsung have also included their fingerprint sensor. Just in case you need it.
