We’ve already examined the Huawei P8 but now it’s time for the Huawei P8 Lite to get a little love.

Why? Because it’s the budget phone that you’ve been waiting for. And that’s not an exaggeration either, the P8 Lite is a 5-inch Android smartphone that is priced in the mid-range but doesn’t look or act like it is. The fact that it is stripped down compared to the full P8 can be seen but you’re going to have to do some searching.

One place you’ll see where things have dropped a little is with the processor. The Huawei P8 Lite uses one of the company’s own HiSilicon Kirin 620 chips, a 1.2GHz octa-core setup that gives the Huawei P8 Lite a huge boost when needed.

This is supplemented by the 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage that is standard for this handset, all of which contribute to it being able to run Android 5.0 Lollipop without any hassles at all.

Huawei have included a 13MP main camera here, as well as a 5MP ‘selfie’ front-facer. They do know what the market has been fond of of late and decent front cameras are right up there with processor speed these days.

The Huawei P8 Lite is available in Black, supports LTE (as long as your network has coverage) and is a dual SIM handset. If this is what we’re calling mid-range these days, we might just back away from the flagships and start living here.
