You can’t go wrong with a dual SIM phone, especially in South Africa. There’s one thing you can say about this country and that is that it loves its phones – putting what is essentially two phones in one chassis is always a winning combination.
Even more so when the combination is a Huawei entry-level device like the Huawei G525. The G525 is a 4.5-inch Android smartphone featuring a qHD (960 x 540) display that comes in black – unlike the header image here which is of the white model.
For your money, you’re getting a 1.2GHZ quad-core processor (yes, quad-core counts as entry-level now) as well as 1GB of RAM. There’s 4GB of storage, which is more than enough to get the Android 4.1 installation going.
But you might like a little more storage, which is where the microSD card slot comes in – letting you bump this one up enough to cram in a selection of albums and videos and the like.
Also included is connectivity, with WiFi (802.11 b/g/n), Bluetooth 2.0 and data all being options – the latter depending on where you coverage extends to.
The Huawei G525 also features a 5MP/0.3MP combination, so you’ll get better than average snaps from the rear camera. Just don’t ask it to win you a photography competition.
As to the rest, there’s a 2,100mAh battery in the back of everything making sure that you will be able to keep your phone active through most situations.
And, have we mentioned that the Huawei G525 is a dual SIM phone? We have? Good. Because that’s what’s really important here.
