How’s that for some rapid uptake? Microsoft have revealed that their new Windows 10 operating system has posted some impressive numbers on user machines since its launch about a month ago. How impressive? Try 75 million installations.

That’s quite the jump on Windows 8, which had seen some 40 million copies of the OS sold after its first month on the market (according to Ars Technica). As has been pointed out, there are some differences between ‘installed’ and ‘sold’ – Windows 10 is definitely the winner here.

There are also some other figures out there. Some 90000 tablet and PC models have been involved in updating to Windows 10, the Windows 10 store has seen a whole lot more downloads (six times as many) than previous versions and then there’s Cortana – which has told over 500000 jokes so far.
