Display company NEC have announced that they will be adding their ShadowSense touchscreen technology to their P Series range of large format displays. The new displays are expected to launch before the end of the year and will incorporate the touch tech which “…uses high performance sensors, which means it works in bright ambient light conditions and delivers optimum performance, stability and accuracy.”

Product Manager of Solutions at NEC Display Solutions Europe Daniela Dexheimer said in a statement “”Consumers are increasingly touch focused – from our smartphones and tablets through to interactive whiteboards in meeting rooms and self-service kiosks in fast-food restaurants and leisure venues. This factor is rapidly driving touch functionality in the digital display market.”

“Our new P Series large format displays incorporate ShadowSense™ touch technology for multi-touch capabilities that businesses can rely on to provide accurate results 24/7.”

The new large format displays are due to roll out in Europe from October 2014 in the case of the P403 SST, P463 SST and P553 SST models with the P703 SST and P801 SST  units following in December this year.
