Mustek Limited, the country’s largest assembler and distributor of personal computers and complementary ICT products, today announced the opening of its brand new regional branch in Mahikeng, in the North West.
The branch will be manned by a team of six, who will focus on new business development in the province and on creating brand awareness among existing dealers and users. With the opening of the Mahikeng branch, Mustek now has a presence in all nine provinces, a move that will more effectively support national contracts. Over the next five years, Mustek hopes to create local jobs and to uplift and empower existing staff. Short-term goals include: increasing the staff complement to between 20 and 30 by 2019, establishing the Mustek North West house, and realising healthy turnover of profit to benefit the board of directors and shareholders.
“It was important for Mustek to establish a local presence in the North West so that we can work more closely with and support our existing and prospective clients,” says Sherelle Strauss, Mustek North West Branch Manager. “Having a local branch will enable us to improve service delivery and turnaround times, increasing brand awareness among local clients. It also allows us to have those important business conversations with new clients, and develop personal relationships with them.”
The Mahikeng branch enables Mustek to work more effectively with local government in its efforts to implement new ICT strategies and improve quality of life for the province’s citizens. The premier has identified ICTs as key to improving local government processes and driving socio-economic development, where Mustek is well-positioned to assist in this regard.
“North West is the fastest-growing province in the country. Our new office puts us in a position to take advantage of exciting new business opportunities and gives us a competitive edge. We look forward to expanding our business into new areas and to supporting the local economy through job creation and infrastructure development,” concludes Strauss.
Mustek has regional branches in: Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban, Port Elizabeth, East London, Kimberley, Polokwane, Nelspruit, Bloemfontein and now Mahikeng.
