Microsoft has now got a weather eye out for the er… weather, with the release of a new mobile app – for both Android and their own Windows Phone operating system – called Climatology. The app is designed to “…give you climate information for anywhere on Earth: temperature, rain and sunniness.”

The company has pointed out that the app, which is backed by Microsoft Research, is still an experimental release and that they’re expecting a few faults and errors. They’re also asking that users give them feedback on how to improve the weather tracking app overall, which is rather sporting of them. It’s not usually a good idea to ask the internet anything along those lines.

The apps are available for free download, either for Android (link) or for Windows Phone (link). No word on whether the weather app will be looking at an iOS release yet.
