Microsoft’s Windows Phone 8.1 has a lot of great features but one thing that might be considered ‘missing’ was the lack of a Remote Desktop option, as is seen in Microsoft’s desktop operating systems.

Redmond has got that on the way however, in the form of an app that they company has recently made available for preview. The preview announcement also gives a rundown on how to use the app on a step-by-step basis. You can locate the preview version of the app here, while Microsoft have not yet set a firm date for the final release.

Microsoft has said that excited users should “Keep an eye out for future updates where we will add exciting new features including Enterprise-focused enhancements such as the Remote Desktop Gateway and RD Connection Broker, VPN support, and Remote Resources (RemoteApp and Desktop Connections). The general availability is planned for later this year.”
