We recently saw that Toshiba have some new Encores (and the Excite Go) on the way and Microsoft has just demoed another tablet form factor from the company at this year’s Computex event.

Called the Encore 7, Toshiba’s new addition is unusual in that it’s a 7-inch tablet that runs the full version of Windows 8.1 – something that is a remarkable feat in itself. The specs have something to do with this, Intel’s Bay Trail processors will be playing a role here and there’s also going to be 1GB of RAM and a 1024 x 600 display to play with.

About the only problem with the tablet may lie in the screen size, which could be a bit fiddly for close work. Pairing it up with an external keyboard and mouse will take care of that, of course, but it’s not every day that we get to see full Windows 8.1 on a teeny little tablet. Toshiba are getting a bit creative these days.
