There has been rumour floating about for some time that Chinese tech maker Lenovo has had a wearable device in the works, something that has since been confirmed by a device pitching up at the FCC in the States.

The FCC information has revealed both what the device looks like (image above) as well as most of the specifics concerning the smart wristwear. The Smartband from Lenovo was posted on the FCC’s site along with the user manual, so we’re pretty sure what it does.

It’ll support Bluetooth, obviously, and has sensors to track running, heart rate and user sleep patterns. The Smartband will support Android, iOS and even Windows Phone but the extent of supported devices isn’t known yet.

Just about the only things that aren’t know are when and where it will launch and what the internal hardware consists of. That’s generally a lot but when you’ve got all of the functionality specifics, that stuff can wait.
