Intel’s got a new processor out, branded Cherry Trail (they sure do like their trails, Intel does) and the first bit of computing hardware to reach the market featuring it is Microsoft’s Surface 3. But that’s only the beginning.
Lenovo, is a report by way of Italy is correct, could have an 8-inch tablet of their own on the way sporting the new Intel Atom silicon. The tablet (above) was sighted at the Intel Developer Forum in China recently, carrying the Lenovo branding. Which is odd, because it seems to have been made by a company called BYD.
Still, the 8-inch tab features Intel’s X5-8300 processor as well as 2GB of RAM, 32GB of storage and Android 5.0 all running on a 1920 x 1200 display. 3G as well as 4G support for the device was also observed.
When we’ll see this one is a mystery but it should be pretty soon. At least we all know that it’s out there, somewhere.
