We seem to recall that Microsoft and Samsung struck up a similar deal recently but it looks like the love is spreading. Microsoft and ASUS have announced that they’ve come to terms on an arrangement that will see ASUS featuring MS’ Office apps on their Android devices as stock software. Nice.
ASUS tablets and Android smartphones form part of the deal, which will all soon feature Microsoft’s Office Productivity apps as standard options.
Microsoft said in a statement “This agreement delivers significant value for both companies. Beyond ensuring continued improvements to our products, it opens the door to the kind of collaboration between Microsoft and ASUS made possible only through mutual respect and alignment on intellectual property.”
ASUS was similarly positive, saying “We see it [the deal] leading to broad partnership opportunities for future technologies and a strengthened relationship between our two companies as leaders of the technology industry.”
