Acer’s XF270HU monitor, a 27-inch display with a refresh rate of 144Hz and a resolution of 2560 x 1440, is the latest piece of screen hardware with support for FreeSync. Awesome, right?

Let’s back up. FreeSync is graphics processing unit company AMD’s alternative to G-Sync, and it helps to eliminate screen tearing during gaming. And if you’ve ever played a game that experiences tearing, you’ll know how important that is.

The XF270HU already as a G-Sync-supporting edition, the FreeSync addition to the lineup will incorporate DisplayPort, HDMI 2.0, DVI and MHL. It’ll also be slightly cheaper than the Nvidia-specific monitor. That’s always been AMD’s strength and now Acer are going to be borrowing some of it. Nice.
