Mustek product manager, Kirk J Toweel enthused “It is really remarkable to bear witness to these information technology icons coming together”.

Under the new partnership, Mustek will now begin distributing a wide range of Panasonic products, including, scanners, toughbooks and Panasonic’s leading edge High Definition Visual Communications (HDVC) Video Conferencing Solutions.

“We are pleased to have signed this agreement with Mustek” says Martin Kruger, Channel Sales Manager at Panasonic SA. “Mustek have a sound and robust reputation in the industry of exceptional service delivery in the South African market. We believe our products will make a significant contribution and add immense value to their range of solutions.” Kruger went on to say that Panasonic is looking forward to a long and successful partnership with Mustek.
For over a century now Panasonic have been at the forefront of developing innovative technological solutions to a variety of customers in the business world. Mustek brings 30 years of expertise and trading to the collaboration.

Mustek echoed the sentiment of Kruger, stating “It is important for similar business entities to pool resources in order to gain maximum market share and exposure as well as to deploy a strategy that will garner support in a saturated electronics market” said Toweel.

There were a number of exciting, interactive displays and demo models on display. One that completely stole the show was the Toughbooks/ Toughpad, launched in 1996, and which has continuously been refined. This is evidenced by the fact that the Toughbooks/Touchpads are being utilised by industry leaders for international markets in the military, the police; healthcare government, flight engineers as well as border patrol in several countries. Features on the Toughbooks include drop resistant, dust, sand and splash proof. A new attribute is that Toughbooks are sunlight readable with a fully detachable screen.

The High Definition Visual Communications (HDVC) Video conferencing solution drew lots of attention on the night. Remaining true to Panasonic’s innovativeness, the HDVC now has special integrated software to compensate for bandwidth fluctuations on the internet or wireless business calls. This means the system corrects frustrating buffering (unclear audio and visual) found on poor connections).
